Curing Erectile Dysfunction Naturally with L-arginine and Nitric Oxide!

In my research for information on curing erectile dysfunction I was struck by the fact that the majority of treatments do not address the most prominent cause of ED or Erectile Dysfunction.  That cause usually centers on the cardiovascular system, the health of your endothelial cells, and their ability to produce nitric oxide.  Instead, I found the following methods for curing erectile dysfunction:

  1. Oral prescription medications like Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra
  2. Undergo needle-injection therapy using alprostadil (prostaglandin E)
  3. Using alprostadil in a small suppository that you insert into the tip of your penis
  4. Testosterone replacement therapy
  5. A penis pump
  6. Vascular surgery to improve blood flow to the male organ

Method 1 is the most popular but it only treats the symptom of erectile dysfunction. It does nothing to solve the underlining problem and typically carries risks and side effects such as headaches, abdominal pain, flushing, heart palpitations, color perception problems, and in rare cases stroke and heart attack.

Most men would prefer to avoid the pain associated with methods 2 and 3.  Method 4 is expensive and carries health risks similar to hormonal replacement therapy for women.  Method 5 is for extreme medical conditions.

The only method above that truly addresses the underlining issue is method 6.  But it’s expensive and could be better achieved through non-invasive methods that can truly repair the health of your vascular system by properly restoring the function of your endothelial cells and their ability to produce nitric oxide.  This article will show you how your endothelial cells produce nitric oxide from the essential amino acids L-arginine and L-citrulline to help cure erectile dysfunction naturally, easily, painlessly, cost effectively and without side effects.

Location, Location, Location!
In conventional business your location can make all the difference in whether you thrive or fail.  The same can be said for nitric oxide and how it can help in curing erectile dysfunction.

Outside the body, nitric oxide is considered an environmental pollutant.  It will react with oxygen to create the corrosive gas nitrogen dioxide (NO2).  This is converted to nitric acid which, when it rains, it is commonly called “acid rain.”

Inside the body, nitric oxide can be an extremely reactive and potentially dangerous free radical.  Most aging experts would say that free radical damage at the cellular level is the leading cause of aging.  Thus, it was with great skepticism from the scientific community, when nitric oxide was identified as the most important signaling molecule in the body.  A signaling molecule that positively impacted a wide range of functions, especially in curing erectile dysfunction!

Nitric Oxide as a Biological Signaling Molecule
Much has been learned about nitric oxide and its effects in the body.  Research continues to show how this potentially harmful gas is intricately involved in so many biological functions.  For example nitric oxide:

Nitric oxide, synthesized by the endothelial cells from the essential amino acid L-arginine, is literally involved in all cells.  It’s so important to your overall health that in 1992, the cover of Science magazine declared nitric oxide to be its “Molecule of the Year!”

The creation of nitric oxide from L-arginine depends on a family of enzymes called nitric oxide synthesis or NOS.  To date, three forms of the NOS enzyme have been found:

Each has a specific function.  Without going into a lot of detail, let’s briefly look at those in the endothelial cells that line all of your cardiovascular system.

When conditions are properly activated the NOS enzymes in the endothelial cells create nitric oxide from the essential amino acid L-arginine.  Nitric oxide is then used to active a chemical reaction that causes the smooth muscles of the vascular system to dilate to improve blood flow.  However, when the endothelial cells are damaged by high blood pressure, high sugar levels, cholesterol, and smoking this decreases nitric oxide production and can lead to a whole host of health and wellness issues.  In particular is erectile dysfunction.

L-arginine & L-citrulline for Help in Curing Erectile Dysfunction!
L-arginine is an essential amino acid found in foods like milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, and other proteins.  When isolated and properly brought into the body, L-arginine has the ability to produce some remarkable results.  Columbia University refers to L-arginine as the “MAGIC BULLET” for the cardiovascular system.  Research suggests the following benefits:

Because of its huge potential in curing erectile dysfunction, L-arginine supplements have populated the shelves of many health food stores, pharmacies and websites.  Now, before you go out and start buying L-arginine supplements you need to be aware of the dark side of this amino acid.

L-arginine ingested in its pure form tastes terrible.  By itself L-arginine can also have some serious side effects like:

That is why L-arginine is also called “the double-edged sword.”

To be effective, L-arginine must utilize a low-glycemic method.  Research has shown that high-glycemic ingredients like maltodextrin, sucrose, table sugars, dextrose, glucose, honey, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, and fruit juice interfere with L-arginine absorption.  There are also agents or antagonists that directly compete with L-arginine to block its health benefits.  These antagonists include lysine, ornithine, proteins, amino acids, high glycemic sugars, and synthetic sweeteners.

The amount of L-aginine consumed is also important.  A daily dose of 5 grams of elemental, pharmaceutical-grade L-arginine will provide cardiovascular benefits and nitric oxide production.  Unfortunately, this will only last for 30 minutes to a couple of hours.  Not necessary ideal for curing erectile dysfunction.

This is where the amino acid L-citrulline becomes important.  Through an enzymatic process your body will convert L-citrulline to L-arginine so that the endothelial cells can continue to produce nitric oxide.  In fact, it is so critical to this whole process that the 1998 Nobel Award Laureate Dr. Louis Ignarro makes the following statement in his book NO More Heart Disease:

“My research shows that if you take only L-arginine, which is the dominant producer of NO, you will not receive the maximum benefit.  I have found that by including the synergistic partner L-citrulline, your ability to boost NO production is greatly enhanced over the effects of L-arginine alone.”

By properly combining L-arginine with L-citrulline, and other important antioxidants, you can achieve a 24 to 36 hour window of improved nitric oxide production.  This is one of the most critical components in helping to restore the health of the endothelial cells.  It also makes a significant difference in curing erectile dysfunction.  Unfortunately, L-citrulline is not as prevalent in our foods as L-arginine.  For many, supplementation is the most effective way in bringing L-citrulline into your system.

What’s the Bottom Line to Curing Erectile Dysfunction?
Before utilizing the methods discussed at the start of this article you might want to try a proven L-arginine / L-citrulline supplement that has been clinically shown to improve the health of the endothelial cells and their ability to produce nitric oxide.  Some questions to ask in choosing an L-arginine / L-citrulline supplement are:

Proper answers to these questions will help you find an L-arginine / L-citrulline product that will have a profound and positive effect on curing erectile dysfunction.  I highly recommend ProArgi-9 Plus because it has been clinical shown to improve the cardiovascular system.

Final Thoughts on Curing Erectile Dysfunction!
It’s estimated that erectile dysfunction affects 50% of the male population over the age of 40.  As men age there is a decrease in arterial blood flow to the genital area and a decrease in production of nitric oxide.  The article “Fixing Erectile Dysfunction!” goes into specific detail on how nitric oxide is necessary for an erection to occur.  The pundits have coined the phrase:

No NO, No SEX!

There is great truth in that phrase and helping your cardiovascular system properly produce nitric oxide is critical to curing erectile dysfunction.  Nitric oxide researchers believe that this molecule “can correct up to 90% of all penile dysfunction.”  Leading nitric oxide researcher, Dr. Arthur Burnett, a Johns Hopkins urologist, stated that nitric oxide is the chemical messenger that produces erections and without nitric oxide there could be no natural erections.

As we have seen in this article, a good L-arginine / L-citrulline combination can substantially improve nitric oxide production and help in curing erectile dysfunction.  Additionally, this combination can do it naturally, easily, painlessly, cost effectively and without side effects.

Equally important is the care of your endothelial cells the line your cardiovascular system.  Damage to these endothelial cells will affect your sexual health and the health of your body.  High blood pressure, high sugar levels, high cholesterol levels and smoking all affect your endothelial cells in a negative way.  Thus, work with a qualified health professional to properly implement an L-arginine / L-citrulline protocol so that this is your first method in naturally curing erectile dysfunction.

Until next time, may we both age youthfully!

Synergistically yours,
